End-of-Studies Thesis Intern — AI Workbench as a Service

End-of-studies thesis internship at DES Laboratory (Sfax, Tunisia), building AI Workbench as a Service — an on-premises, governed Kubernetes platform that turns a shared GPU cluster into self-service infrastructure for researchers. Built the GPU admission policy layer with Kyverno, wired JupyterHub/KubeSpawner to GitLab OAuth for identity-aware notebook provisioning, set up Longhorn persistent storage, and stood up a Prometheus/Grafana/DCGM observability stack. Automated cluster deployment with Ansible.

ML/AI Intern — Semantic Search

Built a CPU-only semantic search system over North Indian recipes for safe ingredient discovery: Sentence Transformer embeddings stored in ChromaDB, serving 3,499 cleaned recipes (from 6,871 raw) through a Dockerized Streamlit UI with sub-second average query times (~0.4s) and no GPU required. Supports three search modes — recipe-to-ingredients, ingredient-to-recipes, and general cuisine exploration. An early prototype added local LLM generation (Ollama) on top of retrieval; that was dropped in the shipped version to keep search fast and resource-light.

Operations Intern

Completed two cycles of internships at the Tunisian Post Office in high-volume customer service environments, assisting with documentation, logistics, and citizen-facing processes. Gave me a ground-level view of how public-sector services actually run operationally, day to day.

Baby Care Center Volunteer

Worked closely with infants and caregivers in underserved communities. Gained exposure to early childhood health challenges and local pediatric care practices. This experience sparked a long-term interest in building tech solutions for early childhood health monitoring.

English Language Teaching Intern

Designed and delivered English language courses to adult learners older than myself. Applied modern teaching methodologies to promote comprehension and engagement while building intercultural communication skills and adapting to new cultural norms. Developed leadership and curriculum planning skills in an unfamiliar educational setting.
